5 May meeting with Parishioners
DONINGTON ON BAIN PARISH MEETING
Held remotely on 5 MAY 2021 at 7pm in the Village Hall
The Chairman welcomed 2 electors, 3 Councillors and clerk & RFO to the meeting.
1. T
he Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on Monday 20 May 2019 were read and approved as a true record.
2. Chairman’s Report
The Chairman reported on various aspects of the village facilities,
It had been a difficult year due to the Covid 19 virus. The Parish council had continued to meet remotely.
The application for lottery funding for the Children's playground had been rejected as lottery monies were being directed towards Covid related projects. The Parish council had repaired the playground. Thanks were given to Cllr Wright and Cllr Gill- Stafford and parishioners for their work on the playground.
The cemetery hedge which had been encroaching on graves had been cut back.
A new noticeboard and an additional dog waste bin had been installed.
3. Finance Report
The clerk & RFO Mrs Viv Davies reported that the total Balance at 31/3/21 was £12,395.18, with accounts being available for public viewing. Breakdown of all spending was also available. All information regarding Annual Governance will be placed on the website.
4. Open Meeting –
Issues were raised regarding
Improvement of the Village. The following suggestions were made.
Planting of bulbs along the verge.
To develop a Village sign/logo
It was proposed to actively ask Parishioners for suggestions. This would be included in the Newsletter.
The issue of dog waste bags being placed on hedges and trees was discussed. It was proposed to erect a sign showing the current location and the location of the nearest bin.
The issue of school traffic traffic speeding in the village was discussed. The Chairman had been to visit the head teacher who would raise the issue with parents. Previously the police had been involved but they would take no action as Donington on Bain is a safe village and there have been no incidents.
