DONINGTON ON BAIN PARISH COUNCIL
NOTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 27 JUNE 2022
THE MEETING WAS OPENED AT 7.30PM.
Present: Cllr. K. White, Cllr. M. Fisher, Cllr B Gill-Stafford, Cllr J Burnham, Cllr R Wright, Cllr K Olsson.
In Attendance: Mrs V Davies, Clerk.
Open Meeting. There were no members of the public. There was no open meeting.

 
78.22 APOLOGIES WITH REASONS FOR ABSENCE AND ACCEPT APOLOGIES WHERE VALID REASONS, GIVEN TO THE PARISH CLERK PRIOR TO THE MEETING.
Apologies were received from Cllr F Beaney.
79.22 TO RECEIVE DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT 2011 – BEING ANY PECUNIARY INTEREST IN AGENDA ITEMS NOT PREVIOUSLY RECORDED ON MEMBERS’ REGISTER OF INTERESTS AND ANY WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR DISPENSATION.
There were no declarations of interest.
80.22 TO APPROVE AS A CORRECT RECORD, THE NOTES OF THE MEETING OF
THE COUNCIL HELD ON 30 MAY 2022 AND TO AUTHORISE THE CHAIRMAN TO
SIGN THE OFFICIAL MINUTES.
It was proposed Cllr Gill-Stafford, seconded Cllr Wright and resolved by all Cllrs that the notes of the meeting held on the 30 May 2022 be approved as a correct record. These would be signed by the Chairman.
81.22 CLERKS REPORT.
The clerk reported that there had been an internment at the cemetery on 1 June.
82.22 NEWSLETTER
The parish council would submit a newsletter entry at the next meeting. The entry would include a polite reminder not to park on the pavements in the village including the one outside the play area.
 
83.22 FINANCE. TO APPROVE THE CHEQUES FOR JUNE AND NOTE THE FINANCIAL REPORTS.
Proposed Cllr Fisher seconded Cllr White and agreed by all Cllrs to authorise the cheques for payment.

Cllrs noted the Income v Expenditure reports. Cllr Gill Stafford verified the bank statements.
84.22 PLANNING
N04201184/22. The Old Chapel, Chapel Lane, Donington on Bain LN11 9TN. Extension to existing dwelling to provide a porch. The parish council supported the application.
85.22 PLAYGROUND/MUGA
Cllr White was in liaison with activelincolnshire regarding funding for the tennis court and playground and was awaiting a further response.
The parish council noted that there was rotting of the slats on the Mutliplay Toddle Bridge. The Parish council would look into the costs of replacing the wood.
There were holes gouged into the grass surface in the Children's play area. Cllr Wright would address the issue.
86.22 FOOTPATH/ WALKS LEAFLET
There was no further progress on the leaflet. Cllr Olsson would lead on the project.
Action: Clerk to write to Mr Parkinson and Mr Dennis (Stenigot) about the paths going from the Church up to Welsdale Road.
87.22 TO ARRANGE SAFETY INSPECTIONS. (CEMETERY, TREES)
Cllr Gill-Stafford had contacted a tree surgeon. The trees requiring inspection were the Churchyard, Cemetery and Play area. A quotation of circa £2k had been received. Cllr Gill- Stafford and Cllr Wright would conduct an inspection of the trees.
88.22 ALLOTMENTS
The clerk would liaise with Cllr Beaney regarding the allotments.
 
89.22 CEMETERY
There were no issues.
90.22 STORAGE OF FILES
The clerk would go through the parish council files retaining files as per the Data Protection Policy. Cllr White agreed to store the parish council filing cabinet.
91.22 ANY OTHER BUSINESS
A councillor raised the issue that all of the roads in the village required road sweeping. There was a large amount of dust causing potential issues with drains. The clerk would raise a highways report.
A councillor raised the issue of the land at Glebe Close that ran along the Church and belonged to a resident. Cllr Wright would look into solutions.
The Parish council resolved to plant spring bulbs in the Autumn on parish land. Cllr Beaney would look into suppliers with a view to ordering in good time for Autumn planting.
