MINUTES JULY 2026
Donington-on-Bain Parish Council
Notice is hereby given that the Donington on Bain Parish Council meeting was held on
Tuesday 7th July, 2026 - Village Hall
The meeting commenced at 7.30pm when members of the public could ask
questions or make statements from this time and the full Council meeting
commenced at 7.45pm.
PUBLIC FORUM
The owner of the land at Biscathorpe where the oil drill was, attended the meeting to explain the recent application to remove the condition to not return the land back to the original state the oil company leased. Donington on Bain PC did lodge an official objection to the removal of this condition that was an integral part of the original permission.
The Farmer stated that the removal of this condition was not detrimental to the farm because the hard standing that the oil company had placed there during their test drilling would be useful and the intention was to build 2 livestock sheds in this area.
The oil well has been capped, and a concrete slab placed over this area.
The application is still ongoing but it is hoped that the Planning Department will take this intention into account when making their final determination.
The Clerk pointed out that in such applications, all the Council can work on are the plans/details presented at the time. Intentions of future possible work cannot be considered as material evidence and should not effect the representation made by the PC to the Planning Office.
He also pointed out that permission for animal sheds would not be automatic because consideration would have to be made of any ecological impact on the area of such activity.
